After a successful 37-year career in banking, including decades in mortgage lending, I’ve returned to a lifelong passion—teaching. I am currently completing my K–12 Special Education degree through Missouri Western State University and am thrilled to be serving students as a special education teacher for grades 9–10. My roots in education run deep. My mother was a middle school science teacher, my grandmother served as the clerk for the district superintendent, and my grandfather worked in maintenance and drove a bus—eventually overseeing both operations for the school. With a family legacy in education and a long-standing interest in teaching, I began pursuing my degree in 2014 but returned to the banking world once again. Now, I’ve fully embraced this second career and am grateful to be making a difference in the lives of students every day. As a proud 1984 graduate of Troy and former student of Highland Community College, returning to my alma mater in this new role has been incredibly meaningful. I love connecting with students and creating an inclusive, encouraging learning environment. My goal is to help each student discover their potential, develop a desire to learn, and achieve their own version of success.
