The Troy High School Queen of Courts Ceremony has been scheduled for Friday, Feb.13, with the crowning at half time of the boys’ game. The opponent that night is Riverside. There will be a pep rally in the new gym that day at 2:45 p.m.
The queen candidates are Kennadee Christopher, Alyson Grable, Gracy McConnaughey, and Harper Whetstine, and the king candidates are Sawyer Ashburn, Hunter Engemann, Colton Luedke, and Caden Rosenberger.
Christopher is the daughter of Lawrence and the late Angela Christopher. She has been involved in choir, theater, NHS, and cheer. She has also served as her class’s vice-president. She plans to attend Emporia State University to major in biology on her way to becoming an anesthesiologist.
Grable is the daughter of Jeremy and Nicole Grable. She has been involved in track, volleyball, basketball, softball, cheer, and NHS. She plans to attend Kansas State University to major in elementary education.
McConnaughey is the daughter of Kyle McConnaughey and Rachelle McConnaughey. She has been involved in softball, t-club, and NHS. She plans to go to Highland Community College Technical Center in Atchison to achieve her LPN and RN certifications.
Whetstine is the daughter of Heath and Melissa Whetstine. She has been involved in track, softball, volleyball, basketball, and NHS. She plans to attend the University of Northern Iowa to continue her basketball career and major in business.
Ashburn is the son of Jaylon and Crystal Ashburn. He has been involved in football, baseball, basketball, cross country, powerlifting, FBLA, and T-Club. He has served as his class’s treasurer. He plans to become an electrician after finishing his certification at Highland Community College Technical Center in Atchison.
Engemann is the son of Justin and Allisha Engemann. He has been involved in football, basketball, baseball, and T-Club. He plans to attend college for business or engineering.
Luedke is the son of Derek and Jennifer Luedke. He has been involved in football, basketball, track, and T-Club. He plans to go to work in construction.
Rosenberger is the son of Branson and Terri Rosenberger. He has been involved in football, basketball, baseball, and T-Club. His plans after high school are undecided.
