Mr. Smith grew up in Northwestern Pennsylvania, the land of so much snow. He graduated with a B.A. from Pennsylvania State University, an M.F.A. from Indiana University, and a Masters of Ed. from The University of Houston. Mr. Smith taught in Texas for 20 years: 15 at the high school level, and 5 at the college level. He also taught college for 10 years in Kansas, and. another 4 years at Lafayette High School in St. Joseph, teaching ELA-12 and Theatre. He and his wife Melissa live in St, Joseph with their 4 rescue dogs, Bella, Matlida, Gozer, and Luke Dogwalker Texas Ranger. They are both very active with the Robidoux Resident Theatre in St. Joseph. He is looking forward to teaching in Troy, especially beside is buddy, Mr. Frieling.
