THS Girls Track Team Places First at Riverside Meet

to the THS Girls Track team for placing 1st at the Riverside Track Meet!
The Trojan track team began their 2023 season at Riverside, Jack Hartman and Emerson Weber started off strong and were both able to bring home first place finishes in the javelin. The jumpers showed the hard work at practice has been paying off as Allie Franken was able to bring home a gold medal in the long jump and Eva Fuemmeler coming home with a silver medal in the triple jump.
The Trojans continued to show strength in the running events with multiple runners bringing home gold medals. These runners included Emerson Weber in the 100m, Harper Whetstine in the 400m and Gracie Grable in the 300m hurdles. Gracie also showed persistence and grit, reining in a 2nd place finish in the mile. The runners for the Trojan relays also worked together to bring in valuable team points with the girls 4 x 400 securing first place finishes. Due to the boys’ teams continuing to work through some injuries they had fewer runners but did have key contributors such as Logan Blevins placing 4th and 3rd in the 100 and 200 m sprints respectively.
The lady Trojans proved that they will be a force to be reckoned with this season coming away with a first-place team finish. The Trojans will travel to Valley Heights next Tuesday, followed by Atchison next Thursday.
