Summer 2023 Driver Education Information
Dear Potential Driver Education Students and Parents/Guardians,
At 6:00 pm (all meetings): (only need to attend one)
Tuesday, March 14th at Elwood MS (Small Gym)
Wednesday, March 15th at Wathena HS (Cafeteria)
Thursday, March 16th at Troy HS (Cafeteria)
Wednesday, March 22nd at Doniphan West (Commons)
Wednesday, March 29th at Wathena HS (Cafeteria)
There will be mandatory informational meetings in regards to Drivers’ Education for the summer term for students. It’s required that if a student plans on enrolling in Driver Education that the parent and student attend one of these meetings due to the complexity of the Driver Education paperwork through the state and the laws involved with obtaining a driver’s license.
At these meetings, I will provide the USD #114 Driver Education Policies and Requirements and the Performance Based Criteria to help you understand some of the requirements of the course.
The DE-99 is a complicated form that MUST be filled out in front of the instructor correctly and signed by student in order to receive their instructional permit (which is necessary for the student to complete the behind the wheel competencies.) This MUST be filled out at the meeting and turned in with $4.00 fee for processing by the April 28h deadline.
USD 429 Troy Student Driver Education Fee is $230.00. The payment is due no later than April 28th to the Troy High School Office.
Hopefully, this information helps answer some of the questions and concerns that you may have in regards to the course. I will be able to answer all other questions at the meetings.
First Day of Class: Tuesday, May 30th, 2023. (In Wathena, Multipurpose Room)
Class Dates/Times: Every weekday May 30th-June 9th.
8:00- 11 :00 EVERY day.
