USD 429 TO SAY GOODBYE TO A SPECIAL TEACHER AND FRIEND
A USD 429 employee closed their journey here at Troy that represents 17 years of Service. USD 429 cannot thank this employee enough for their hard work and dedication they have given our District!
Mrs. Bobette Geiger has been with USD 429 for 17 years now. She graduated from Lafayette High School and attended Northwest Missouri State, Missouri Western, and finished her teaching degree at Benedictine College in 1993. She was hired at Troy to teach Title 1 Reading in 2005.
When we asked Bobette to reflect back on her years with the Troy School District she said “ I want to start by saying thank you to the Board of Education and Administration for allowing me the opportunity to serve this district for 17 years. My time here has been very enjoyable, not without trials, but rewarding as well.
I appreciate the support from colleagues over the years for letting me take students out of their classrooms and for teaching me what good teachers are supposed to look like.
I am grateful for parents trusting me to help the children improve their reading skills and
grow in confidence as they entered my classroom every day. The students are the reason I came to school; they allowed me to share my love of literacy and learning with them. My hope is that they will continue to grow and be successful throughout their time in school and beyond.
In retirement I plan to help my husband at home on the farm, work in my yard and spend extra time with grandkids.”
Thank you again, Bobette for your dedication to the students and staff at USD 429. You will be missed!
