Troy High School Boys Basketball Team Are 2022 1A - DI Sub-State Champions

The Troy Trojan Boys Basketball Team were the 2022 1A-DI Sub-State Champions with a victory over Topeka Cair Paravel 58-57.  The Trojans were led by Jerrit Norris with 14, Cam Anderson with 13, Boden Benitz and Reagan Hartman with 11 and Griffin Weber with 9.  Top Seed Topeka Cair Paravel opened the game with a 1st quarter lead 13-12.  The Lions would outscore the Trojans 11-4 in the second to make the score, 24-16 at the half. Cam Anderson would score 7 straight coming out of halftime to close the lead to 1.  Both teams would trade buckets in the 3rd with Topeka Cair leading at the end of 3 38-33.  The Trojans would leave their best for the last quarter when they outscored the Lions 25-19.  Senior Anderson would make 2 free throws with 3 seconds in the game to put the Trojans up four.  The Lions would hit a 3 at the buzzer.  

The Trojans won another close won in semi-finals over Frankfort 34-32.  The Troy boys were led by Reagan Hartman with 14, Norris with 8, Benitz with 6, Anderson 4, and Weber 2.  The Trojans beat Onaga in the first round 44-34.  

The Trojan Boys have not appeared at State since 1998.  The Trojans would face #1 seed Olpe at State on Wed., March 9th at 2 p.m. in Dodge City, Kansas.
