Jena Tharman – Mrs. Jena Tharman was chosen as the 2020-2021 USD 429 Master Teacher of the Year!
Jena is a past nominee. She continues to create a kindergarten program for our district in which we can take great pride. She creates a warm, encouraging, and fun learning environment for her students. She establishes good communication with parents and does a great job at keeping parents informed. Around school, she is always willing to lend a helping hand. She assists with lots of 'behind the scenes' things. Jena strives to carry on traditional activities, but also introduces new and fun ideas, like the Friday Fun Dancing!!
Jena is also extremely active with school and community events. You regularly see her outside the classroom with a smile on her face talking to kiddos and parents. She supports her students outside the classroom as well. We have seen her attending her students sporting events to cheer them on.
When it comes to professional development, Jena is always striving to learn and grow as a teacher. You can tell she thoroughly enjoys teaching, and it is more than a ‘job’ to her. She is continually searching for new ways to make her classroom a more engaging learning environment for her students. Every day she shows she is dedicated to students, parents, and Troy USD 429 through her positive, creative, fun, caring, and innovative personality.
