ALL USD 429 TROY STUDENTS WILL RECEIVE FREE MEALS FROM USDA WAIVER UNTIL DECEMBER 18!
ALL USD 429 TROY STUDENTS WILL RECEIVE FREE MEALS STARTING SEPTEMBER 8TH! PLEASE READ BELOW FOR GUIDELINES!
The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) has recently extended several waivers that will allow all students attending the Troy School District to receive free meals through December 18, 2020 or until available funding runs out through the Seamless Summer Option program.
What this means for you is your child(ren) will NOT pay for school lunches from Sept. 8 - Dec. 18th. No paperwork needs to be filled out on your behalf to receive this benefit. Extra milks, ala carte, etc. will still be an extra charge to your child's account.
If you currently have a negative account balance that will still need to be paid in full to USD 429 Troy. If your child would like to purchase seconds, snacks, extra milk, ala carte, etc. you will still need to send lunch money for extras. USDA and the Troy School District will only be providing the federal reimbursed breakfast and lunch meal not extras.
Current positive account balances will remain active and will be used when this waiver expires in January 2021 and for extras that they are purchasing.
If you have any questions, please call the Troy Central Office at 785-985-3950.
