Frequently Asked Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

We put this information together to help you understand some of the practices we have in place and to also help you and your child adjust to some new school expectations. If these new practices keep us in the building with kids, then we want to follow them.

Can my student bring their own water bottle to school?

Yes, please do, and don't forget to take it home and get it washed.

My child/student would like to wear their own mask, is this allowable? Certainly it is! We want the students to be comfortable and if they have a mask they want to bring and wear, we encourage it, school appropriate of course. Masks will be worn according to our plan.

When kids can be outside, like recess or pe where students are physically exerting themselves, kids will be able to take their masks off.

Why can we only drop our children off at 7:40 am?

We are trying to limit large gatherings for extended periods of time. The best scenario is dropping them off a little before 7:55 am. It will be a challenge to keep students apart, but we want to help limit large gatherings if possible. All students will be allowed to eat breakfast and have adequate time to do so if they want.

Bus Seating -

Students will have assigned seats on the bus to and from school. They will be required to sit in these seats with siblings if possible.

We are encouraging parents and guardians to bring their students to school instead of riding the bus, however we also know that might be a challenge for some parents.

Visitors in The Building

Again, in an effort to keep our in-person learning as long as possible we will be limiting visitors to the building. A USD 429 employee will meet you outside if you need to drop something or pick something up. Just call, we are always happy to help you or your child.
