Congratulations Mrs. Adrienne Geiger
On Monday evening, May 26, the Master Teacher Selection Committee for the 2019-2020 school year met. Three teachers were nominated for the honor.
Jeremy Prudden - Jeremy does a great job trying to help create a more positive school culture. He is always willing to step up and be a leader and is one of the teachers that can have total command of his classroom and have great relationships with his students as well. His leadership with the kindness pays program was a great addition to this year.
Jena Tharman – Jena was nominated for the third year in a row. She is always willing to help out when needed and is respected by her peers. She was able to help a new student this year adjust to classroom and behavior norms and was able to develop a lasting, positive relationship. Jena has great rapport with her student’s parents and strives to continue all the great traditions of the Troy Schools.
Adrienne Geiger was chosen as this year’s Master Teacher of the Year. Adrienne is a thirteen year veteran of the Troy School District. The following is taken from the nomination form…Adrienne is extremely organized, thorough, and task oriented which in turn eases the stress to fellow staff, parents, and her students. She is compassionate and empathetic and has a special way of engaging all students to grow academically and socially. Adrienne is involved in school activities, church activities, and community activities. She is a regular at extra-curricular events and member of the site council and will serve as a PTO officer next year. Adrienne also proposed and executed, the now annual “Community Service Day”, in which the elementary school reaches out to the community businesses, organizations, churches, and individuals to find services that the students may fulfill. This volunteer work gives our students a feeling of importance and pride in doing their part and also helps the community with its needs.
Congratulations Mrs. Adrienne Geiger, 2019-2020 USD 429 Master Teacher of the Year, and to all those nominated!
