Dear USD Parents, Guardians, Homeschool Parent/Teachers, and Student Caregivers:
I again can’t tell you how much we thank you and appreciate you. I wanted to reach out to you and with the deepest sense of admiration for you, tell you thanks. Hang in there with us! We are approaching the downhill side. I am not certain about anyone else, but is seems like March and April have lasted a real long time! I want to see the silver lining in that and be thankful I have had an opportunity to spend more time with and communicate more with family and friends. Even though it has been in a social distancing type of way.
Governor Kelly laid out plans for re-opening our Great State. We do not believe schools will re-open for this school year. I have always held out hope they would, and we could finish in our buildings with your kids. However, we have been instructed to follow our school schedule and finish out the school on a strong note. We intend to do that outside the classrooms and buildings.
What August will bring we do not know yet. We will plan for “regular” school. The state department of education will be working on a plan in case this does not happen. I believe we are in agreement, we are ready to be done with online school and would love to be in our buildings next school year. We want that also.
We will be sending out information in the coming weeks for end of the school year procedures. This will, at the very least, involve bringing in the technology, books and other items we have loaned you. We want to continue to work with you and offer any help we can, even if it is words of praise, thanks, or encouragement. We so much appreciate your help and support during this time.
