I would like to welcome all the students, parents, staff and all those in the Troy school community, back for the 2017-18 school year. I am proud to be serving as your Superintendent of Schools and Troy Elementary School Principal and look forward to seeing many of you at enrollment on August 10th. I am looking forward to a productive school year with your children.
The Troy School District is in great shape! We have a faculty and staff that want to work in a small school setting and are proud to work in USD 429. Due to the dedication of your elected board of education members and their fiscal responsible attitude over the years, we can provided your students a dedicated staff, quality programs, various curriculum offerings, and more than adequate facilities. We want to continue to improve in all those areas so we can give the students of Troy a great PreK -12 education.
Over the course of last year, I shared some of my beliefs about education with you. I would again like to share those same philosophies and beliefs.
I believe in hard working educators and support staff and the work they do on a daily basis.
I believe in parents and the hard work they do in helping their child succeed in school.
I believe in kids and that they want and need structure and discipline and teachers and educators who can give them that in a caring, respectful environment.
I believe in Relationships, Relevance, Responsive Culture, Rigor and Results.
I believe in getting kids to do…helps them learn.I believe in hands on education.
I believe in small towns.
I believe in public schools.
WE ARE A SCHOOL WHERE STUDENTS AND STAFF EXCEL; PARENTS AND COMMUNITY CARE.
I would like to think some of my beliefs about education coincide with the USD 429 motto and USD 429 mission statement, as well as your beliefs.
THE MISSION OF TROY PUBLIC SCHOOLS AND COMMUNITY IS TO PROVIDE STUDENTS WITH THE SKILLS THAT WILL PREPARE THEM TO BECOME LIFE LONG LEARNERS AND RESPONSIBLE PRODUCTIVE CITIZENS.
Whether seeing adults and kids at the ballpark, the fair, the 4th of July activities, or just out and about in the community, one thing is common; your love for Troy and the schools. Your love and pride show in the t-shirts you wear and how you talk about our town and schools. With your help and support, we can continue to provide our kids with a top-notch education.
