“HOOPS for the HUNGRY”

by Sheila Marriott

November 20, 2009

We, the Senior Basketball players at Troy High School, have started a program called, “HOOPS for the HUNGRY”. We are asking for each fan to bring an item to all of our home basketball games. A donation box will be available in the outer hall for all donations. Chances will also be sold, and one name drawn to shoot at half time for a special prize. Suggested items to bring are any non-perishable food items, stocking hats, mittens, coats, shoes, blankets, shampoo, conditioner, soap, toothpaste, etc. So come to the basketball games to support not only us basketball players, but also our neighbors in need. If anyone knows of a family in the county in need, please contact Kristee Grable at Troy Grade School or email to kgrable@troyusd.org. Thank you in advance for all of your support in helping with our “HOOPS for the HUNGRY” program. We want to put smiles on the faces of our neighbors in need. Please help us. Our first home basketball game is Friday, December 4. We hope to see you there!
