ST. JOSEPH TRACTOR INDUSTRIAL AND FARM EQUIPMENT TECHNICIAN PROGRAM
Purpose:
To identify and assist two young people who will successfully complete an associate degree program form Oklahoma State University-Okmulgee and then work successfully for St. Joseph Tractor as technicians.
Forgivable Student Loan:
Tools – St. Joseph Tractor will provide the required tools for the course of study in the Industrial and Farm Equipment Technician Program of Oklahoma State University – Okmulgee.
These tools will remain the property of St. Joseph Tractor until such time as the Scholarship winner successfully completes the program and works for one full year after graduation for St. Joseph Tractor. After these requirements are met the tools will become the property of the student loan winner.
Tuition & Fees – St. Joseph Tractor will arrange for a loan to the student to pay the cost of Tuition and Fees for the two years of the Industrial and Farm Equipment Technician Program of Oklahoma State University – Okmulgee, currently $10,700. St. Joseph Tractor will payoff the loan for the total of these Tuition and Fees upon successful completion of the entire course of study and two successful years of working as a technician for St. Joseph Tractor. In the event that the student fails to maintain full student status at the University or fails to complete two successful years of employment with St. Joseph Tractor after completion of the program: the student will repay the loan in full plus 8% per annum.
Internship – St. Joseph Tractor will sponsor the student and provide the internship as required by the Industrial and Farm Equipment Technician Program of Oklahoma State University – Okmulgee. The student will be paid during the periods of internship as outlined and required by the University in this program.
Living Expenses – Will be the responsibility of the student although assistance may be found through the University in their Financial Assistance Programs.
Qualifications
Prospective students must be:
1. Eighteen (18) years of age (or older) by the time of the first internship.
2. High School Graduate.
3. Able to meet OSU-OKULGEE admission and academic requirements.
4. Able to meet St. Joseph Tractors hiring requirements.
5. Possess a valid driver’s license and maintain an employable driving record.
6. Willing to take a drug test if requested by St. Joseph Tractor.
7. Sincere about becoming the best service technician he/she can be.
8. Qualified for the Nonresident Tuition Waiver as specific by
OSU-OKMULGEE.
9. Willing to participate in the selection process as outline below.
Selection Process:
Applicants will be considered when their applications are completed and returned to St. Joseph Tractor. The deadline for these applications will be May 12, 2008. Individual interviews will be used to select and screen the finalist for the Scholarship/Loan. Finalists will be identified and notified on or before May 19, 2008. The final selection criteria is that the individual must complete a successful work experience with St. Joseph Tractor during May, June, July and August 2008. Prior to beginning work the student must successfully complete the enrollment process at Oklahoma State University – Okmulgee.
